Exams
It might be appropriate for students to enter festivals or exams. These might include the Music Artistry Program, Achievement in Music Festival, Royal Conservatory Exams, and National Federation of Music Clubs. These events have their own set registration fees. These fees are not included in your lesson tuition fees.
What does a lesson include?
Repertoire- this might include method books, supplementary books, sheet music, lead sheets, hymns, students favorites and/or classical anthologies.
Technique- Students learn the correct way of placing their hands on the keyboard. They learn correct ways to move arms, wrists, and fingers as to ease stress and tension on the body and produce beautiful sounds.
Sightreading- Piano Safari sight-reading cards, sight reading books, or the reading railroad series online.
Theory- Theory usually comes in the form of part of the method series. But theory is integrated into the repertoire as much as possible. Students experience the theory before it is taught in the method book.
Keyboard Skills- Scales, Arpeggios, Triads, chord progressions. As we practice these, our repertoire benefits. Repertoire is built from these fundamentals.
Incentives!!- games for individual students, studio wide challenges like the “One Minute Club” or “40-piece challenge”, note rush, sticker collections and prize baskets.
